The NetMarkets best-practice playbook includes: Check your Channel report regularly. Treat it like your “post-publish QA” across marketplaces. Fix high-impact groups first. Start with themes showing the most affected products (e.g., IDs or Categories). Use mapping rules to standardise attributes that commonly fail (identifiers, categories, delivery info). Lean on us. If a code or message is cryptic, our service teams will point you to the quickest fix.

The Real Cost of Marketplace Errors

Marketplace errors don’t just cause inconvenience, they directly impact visibility, revenue, and brand reputation. Take this real-world example from a Lengow case study: a retailer uploaded over 2,000 SKUs to a major marketplace. Due to undetected feed errors, only 18% of the products actually went live. No alerts were triggered, no warnings were issued - and by the time the issue was discovered, weeks of valuable sales had been lost.

These kinds of errors are more common than most teams realise. Without proactive tracking and real-time alerting, brands risk:

Hidden or suppressed product listings that don’t appear in search
Penalties or delisting by marketplaces due to recurring feed issues
Broken SEO, lost product rankings, and reduced ad performance
Hours spent combing through data to identify and fix issues manually
Missed sales windows during promotions, peak periods, or new launches

When a Marketplace Error Costs You Months of Sales

A retailer saw only 18% of its 11,000 products go live on Cdiscount due to poor marketplace strategy and listing errors. Even with expert support, it took six more months to fully activate the catalog, revealing the scale of the initial issues…

How NetMarkets Error Tracking Works

1. Marketplace processes your feed

After ingestion, the marketplace issues a diffusion/error report with excluded products and reasons.

2. NetMarkets consolidates results

We fetch the latest report and present it in the Channel report with themes, counts, filters and search.

3. You correct & republish

Use the guidance and linked channel docs to resolve issues and send again. If a message is unclear, contact Lengow Support for hands-on help.

4 Mistakes That Block Listings

NetMarkets helps you prevent all of these common errors, with built-in validation:

Missing mandatory fields (e.g. GTIN, brand, condition)
Incorrect or outdated categories
Improper use of marketplace-specific values
Non-compliant titles or descriptions (do not meet marketplace length/format rules)

What you can do in the Channel report

Spot the top blocking issues at a glance, then drill into affected SKUs.
Search and filter by error/warning, theme, and Products vs Offers to speed triage.
Download CSV (with the report’s date/time) to share with merchandising or tech teams.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Marketplace errors can range from feed formatting issues and missing mandatory attributes to outdated stock data and invalid category mappings. These errors often result in listings being rejected, hidden, or even delisted entirely, which directly impacts your visibility and sales.

In the case of EfectoLED (company selling technical LED lighting), expanding across multiple marketplaces introduced technical challenges that affected product listings. By using Lengow to standardize their product data and monitor errors across channels, they gained full control over their catalogue and reduced time-to-market: a key factor in their growth across 10+ marketplaces in Europe.

A powerful marketplace management platform like Lengow's NetMarkets offers proactive error reports - so you can fix issues quickly and safely.

For example, when CREATE, Spanish design-led brand reinventing household appliances, expanded into cross-border marketplaces, they relied on Lengow’s error reports to keep their feeds compliant with local requirements. This allowed them to avoid launch delays, ensure listing accuracy, and maintain performance scores on each marketplace.

Unchecked errors can lead to thousands of products staying offline without your team knowing, especially during launches or promotional events. The cost includes lost revenue, damaged marketplace rankings, and missed customer opportunities.

In one Lengow case study, a retailer listed 11,000 products on Cdiscount but only 18% went live due to feed errors. Without error tracking, the problem went unnoticed for weeks. Even with expert support, it took six additional months to fully recover the catalog - underlining how critical early error detection truly is.
