How does VTEX work alongside marketplaces?

Marketplaces represent about 50% of all online sales throughout the world (*). This makes it an ecosystem never to be overlooked! VTEX has a firm grasp of this, and offers two different approaches for making the most of the marketplace system: the solution either grants you access to existing platforms to sell your products, or lets you create your own marketplace.

• Access existing marketplaces. As most e-commerce solutions are designed to create and manage an online store, VTEX grants vendors access to the marketplace ecosystem throughout the world: Amazon, eBay, Alibaba, etc. To do so, you will need a dedicated application such as the Lengow connector, used to format and send product flows which meet the platform’s various prerequisites.
• Create your own marketplace. VTEX stands out by offering to create your own marketplace, and thus join forces with your suppliers and business partners. This way, you can offer your customers a unique shop where they can find everything they are looking for. The VTEX marketplace platform makes it easy to integrate products from a myriad of vendors, access a portfolio of over 2,500 users in 32 countries, and synchronise products automatically. You can also create several digital store fronts to offer different languages, and adapt payment terms to various currencies.

VTEX is the only fully-integrated e-commerce platform offering comprehensive functionalities relating to marketplaces. It is therefore an excellent solution if you wish to sell on marketplaces, or even create your own!
