Why sell on Amazon?

Marketplaces have many advantages for e-retailers, notably because they can benefit from their reputation among internet users (with a level of expression of interest that exceeds that of price comparison websites), and also because they place at the disposal of e-retailers powerful tools for managing the product catalogue, the delivery and payments .

And all this without setting aside a development and maintenance budget for one's commercial website!

Amazon's omnipotence

When playing with fame, Amazon's marketplace

is largely ahead of its competitors: more than 16 million unique visitors browse the pages of online e-retailers each month (against 10 million for Fnac or Cdiscount). Selling on Amazon's marketplace comes with other benefits:

• an opening to international markets : Amazon, it’s 5 marketplaces in Europe (France, England, Spain, Italy, Germany) on which your products can be offered instantly. In addition, a currency converter allows you to receive payments in the desired currency. A great way to start exporting one's products with limited risks;
• a high level of security and protection, particularly for payments;
• a 'Pro Seller' account with many virtues: as soon as an e-retailer sells more than 30 items per month, the professional account becomes mandatory: It replaces the commission linked to each sale by a monthly subscription, allows you to upload an unlimited number of goods and to write extremely accurate descriptions and gives access to advanced analysis tools;
• if required, the management of goods' delivery and after-sale service - including abroad - through the "shipped by Amazon" service. Simply send one's products to an Amazon distribution centre and the platform handles logistics when orders come in; an efficient way to market outside of France.

For an e-retailer, selling on Amazon offers a triple opportunity: acquiring a qualified traffic without having to develop one's own structure and marketing strategy; benefitting from the logistics and the tools of the platform; selling internationally without risk.
